I loved how this was written and like The Alice Network, I felt a sense of vindication and triumph finishing this novel. I was broken, truly broken, by Francis and Lucy's death and the role Osla and Beth played in it. I was upset by Osla's dismissal of a man she loved. War is truly pain and I think the dynamics of their lives embodied that statement. I love how strong Osla was in who she was, I love how Beth stood up for herself and was smarter than she thought, and I love Mab for fighting and never stopping her fight. I don't even have a favourite character, I found them all to be worthy of my love. It combined history with fiction and created strong women I adored this book is all about strength, thank you. I only have positive ramblings to give because I only have positive thoughts for every aspect of this novel. Oh, did you want something more succinct and a bit more detailed about my thoughts? No. They each were strong and I cannot reiterate how much I adored them. This, this was fantastic!īeth, Osla, and Mab were all dynamic women whom I loved dearly. Written so beautifully and voiced so well, even if the accents were not the best, I could not tear myself away. I mean, it was 656 pages long and every single page was warranted.
